Google review link and QR code, free

Paste your Place ID, copy the direct link to your Google review form, and download a QR code for the counter, receipts or table tents. No sign-up, no watermark.

01Add your business

Don't know it? Open Google's free Place ID finder, type your business name in the map's search box, and copy the ID it shows (it usually starts with ChIJ). A Google Maps link that contains place_id works too.

Make it a dynamic code

The code above has the review link baked in, which is fine if nothing changes. A dynamic code points to a short link you control instead: if you move, rebrand, or want the same printed cards to ask for reviews somewhere else, you change the destination from your account and every printed code follows. You also see how many people scanned it, by day, city and device. 3 dynamic codes are free, and they keep working even if you cancel.

How to find your Google review link without a tool

  1. Search your business name on Google while signed in to the account that manages it, or open business.google.com.
  2. In the Google Business Profile panel, click "Ask for reviews" (some accounts see "Get more reviews").
  3. Copy the short link Google shows (it starts with g.page/r/). It opens the same review form as the link above.

The link on this page uses your business's Place ID instead (search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=…). Both go straight to the "write a review" box; use whichever you like in the generator.

Where to put a review QR code

Put it where the visit ends on a high note: the checkout counter, the receipt, the bill folder, the delivery bag, a thank-you card in the box, or the back of your van. Print it at least 2 x 2 cm (0.8 x 0.8 in), keep a dark code on a light background, and add a short ask next to it. Asking in person while pointing at the code works better than a code on its own. Our free Google review sign and table tent template put the code and the ask on one printable page.

Keep it within Google's rules

Ask every customer the same way. Google's review policies don't allow offering discounts or gifts in exchange for reviews, asking only happy customers, or writing reviews for your own business. The same goes for review requests by email or text.

A quick question

We're thinking about adding review requests by email: you upload your customers, we send each one a polite request with your review link, as a paid add-on. Would you use it?

Count the scans on your review code

Start with 3 free dynamic codes. Re-point them any time, see scans by day and city.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my Google review link?

Look up your Place ID with Google's free Place ID finder and paste it above: the link is built from it. Or open your Google Business Profile (search your business name on Google while signed in), click "Ask for reviews", and copy the link Google shows.

Does the Google review link expire?

No. The link is built from your business's Place ID, which Google keeps for the life of the profile. In rare cases Google reissues an ID, so scan a printed code every few months. A dynamic code lets you fix the destination without reprinting.

Is this free?

Yes. Finding the link and downloading the QR code as PNG or SVG is free, with no sign-up and no watermark. A dynamic code, which you can re-point after printing and which counts scans, needs a free account (3 dynamic codes included).

Can I put the link on a QR code, a table tent or a receipt?

Yes. That's what the code above is for: print it on table tents, receipts, thank-you cards, packaging, the counter or your van. Add a short line like "Enjoyed your visit? Leave us a review" next to it. You can also paste the link into emails, text messages and your website.

What happens when a customer scans the code?

Their phone opens Google's review form for your business, with the star rating ready to tap. They need to be signed in to a Google account, which almost everyone with an Android phone or Gmail already is.

Can I show the code only to happy customers?

No. Google's review policies don't allow selectively asking for reviews, and in the US the FTC treats review gating as deceptive. Ask every customer the same way, and don't offer discounts or gifts for reviews.

Is this an official Google tool?

No. QR Code Desk isn't affiliated with Google. We build the standard review link format Google uses from your business's Place ID. Google is a trademark of Google LLC.
