How to make it
- Enter your network name (SSID) exactly as it appears, including capital letters and spaces.
- Enter the password and pick the security type. Most home and business routers use WPA/WPA2.
- Download the code and print it for the counter, reception, a guest room or your rental's welcome book.
How Wi-Fi QR codes work
The code stores your network name, password and security type in a standard format that iPhone and Android cameras understand. When a guest scans it, the phone offers to join the network. Nothing is sent to us: the code is generated in your browser.
If you change the password
The password is stored inside the code itself, so a Wi-Fi code has to be regenerated and reprinted whenever you change the password. If you rotate the guest password often, keep the printed code somewhere easy to replace, like a small frame or a card holder.
Need a code you can change after printing?
Dynamic codes point to a link you can edit any time and show scans by day, city and device. They work with website links, so point one at your menu, booking page or contact page. How dynamic codes work.
Frequently asked questions
Do iPhones and Android phones support Wi-Fi QR codes?
Yes. Recent iPhones and Android phones can join a network by scanning a Wi-Fi QR code with the built-in camera app.
Is it safe to put my Wi-Fi password in a QR code?
Anyone who can scan the code gets the password, just like anyone who can read it on a sign. Use a separate guest network for visitors, and keep your main network private.
Does QR Code Desk see my Wi-Fi password?
No. Static codes, including Wi-Fi codes, are generated in your browser and the details are never sent to our servers.
