How to make it

  1. Set up where guests reply: your wedding website's RSVP page, a Google Form, or an event page. Copy its link.
  2. Paste the link below, pick colors that match the invitation, and download the SVG for your printer or PNG for a digital invite.
  3. Print a test on the actual card stock and scan it with two phones before the full run. Add a line like "Scan to RSVP by June 1".

Printed invitations can't be corrected

An invitation is printed once and posted to a hundred people. If the RSVP link changes, if the website moves, or if a letter was mistyped, the code on the card is wrong for good. A dynamic code avoids that: the card carries a short link you control, and you can point it at a new RSVP page from your account at any time. You also see how many guests scanned it, which tells you roughly how many still need a nudge.

One code for the whole wedding

Point the code at your wedding website and put the RSVP, the schedule, directions, the registry and the photo album behind one link. After the day, re-point the same code (if it's dynamic) at the photo album, and the code on the thank-you cards keeps working.

Size and placement on the card

Keep the code at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide and dark on a light background. Foil, glitter and heavily textured paper can stop phones from reading it, so put the code on a plain patch. For the matching table signs, the printable table tent and sign maker use the same code.

When to use a dynamic code

Use a dynamic code instead of a static one if the link might change. You print the code once, and change where it goes from your account at any time. You also see how many people scanned it, from which city and on which phone.

Frequently asked questions

How do guests RSVP with a QR code?

They point their phone camera at the code; the phone shows a link and opens your RSVP form or wedding website, where they answer. No app is needed on a recent iPhone or Android phone.

Which RSVP form should I use?

Anything with a link: a Google Form, your wedding website's RSVP page, or an event page. The code just opens the link.

Can I see how many guests scanned the code?

With a dynamic code, yes: scans by day and city. A static code can't be counted.

What if I change the RSVP link after the invitations are printed?

With a dynamic code, change the destination in your account and every printed card follows. A static code can't be changed.
