Static code: free forever, no watermark.
How to make it
- Copy the link: on a video, use Share and copy the link; for a channel, copy the address from your browser; for a playlist, open the playlist and copy its address.
- Paste it below, add your colors and, if you like, your logo.
- Download the SVG for print or PNG for screens, and test it: scanning should open the video in the YouTube app or the browser.
Which YouTube link to use
A video link (youtu.be/… or youtube.com/watch?v=…) opens that video. A channel link (youtube.com/@yourname) opens the channel page. A playlist link opens the list and starts the first video. If you want the video to start at a point, tick "Start at" in the Share dialog; the code carries the time along.
Swap the video after printing
Instructions on packaging, a how-to on a poster, a welcome video in a rental: the printed code stays, the video gets replaced. With a dynamic code you point the same printed code at the new video from your account, and see how many people scanned it per day.
Not affiliated with YouTube
QR Code Desk isn't affiliated with YouTube or Google. The code opens the link you paste, nothing more. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC; a plain line like "Scan to watch the video" next to the code is all your print needs.
When to use a dynamic code
Use a dynamic code instead of a static one if the link might change. You print the code once, and change where it goes from your account at any time. You also see how many people scanned it, from which city and on which phone.
3 dynamic codes free. No card needed. Sign in with Google or a link by email.
Frequently asked questions
Does the code open the YouTube app?
On phones with the app installed, YouTube links usually open in the app; otherwise they open in the browser. Both play the video.
Can I track how many people watched?
A dynamic code counts how many people scanned, by day and city. YouTube's own analytics show views; the two won't match exactly, since not every scan becomes a view.
Is a YouTube QR code free?
Yes. Static codes are free with no sign-up and no watermark. Dynamic codes that can be re-pointed after printing need a free account (3 included).
